printable objects.
Describe an object and Printa builds a real, watertight 3D model. Everything below is compiled live — pick a form, change it, download the STL.

Ask
Describe it in plain words — “a sign that says SYDNEY”.
2
Refine
Taller, rounder, a softer font. The model updates as you talk.

Download a watertight STL that works in any slicer.
Real models, compiled on this page
Type, vessels and lattices — and whole cities, captured from photogrammetry or mapped outlines. Every tile is a live STL, not a screenshot.

Common questions
- Are the models actually printable?
- Every model is compiled to a closed, watertight solid with printable wall thicknesses, and the STL you download is generated from the same document you see turning on the page. Nothing here is a scan or a decorative mesh that needs repairing first.
- Do I need an account?
- No. The editor, the templates, the city captures and STL export are free and need no sign-up. Models you save stay in your own browser.
- Can I change a template, or is it fixed?
- A template is a model document, not a mesh — so the wall thickness, height, segment count, font and every modifier are still parameters. Press Use this and the editor opens the same spec, recompiling as you type.
- What can it print of my own city?
- Search any city, suburb or landmark on Earth and capture it: either a photogrammetric surface, which keeps rooflines and trees, or mapped OpenStreetMap outlines extruded over sampled ground. The capture is baked into the document, so it prints the same offline.
- Which file format do I get?
- Binary STL, the format every slicer reads. Dimensions are exact millimetres, so a 120 mm model measures 120 mm on the bed with no scaling step.
- Does it work with ChatGPT?
- Yes. Printa is an MCP server, so an assistant can build, preview and download models through the same endpoints the editor uses.
